Lexi — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
What Lexi does
Lexi (“the extension”) lets you double-click a word on a web page to see a translation in your chosen language, and optionally save that word to a personal vocabulary list you can review as flashcards.
Data we collect
None. Lexi does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to us or to any third party. We have no servers and no analytics.
How your information is handled
- Translations run on your device. Lexi uses Chrome’s built-in, on-device translation. The text you translate is never sent to us or to any external service.
-
Your saved words stay local. Your chosen language and the words
you save are stored only in your browser’s local storage
(
chrome.storage.local) on your own computer. They never leave your device. - No tracking. Lexi contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party trackers.
- Page access. Lexi runs on the web pages you visit only so it can respond to text you select and show the translation there. It does not read, record, or transmit your browsing activity or page content.
Deleting your data
Because everything is stored locally, you are always in control. You can remove saved words from within the extension, or clear all of Lexi’s data by removing the extension from Chrome.
Changes to this policy
